The American Seal & Engineering Combustion Seal is a high performance resilient metallic seal developed for use as the primary sealing element on internal combustion engines. With over 0.002" useful spring back and tolerant to head dynamics of up to 0.00015", this seal is well suited for diesel and other high performance gasoline engine applications.
The jacket is fabricated with a unique forming process using High Temperature Alloys as the base material. The specially designed jacket and helically wound spring provides a fatigue resistant gasket to meet the operating limits of temperature, pressure and deflection associated with combustion engine applications. In the design of this unique gasket our primary goal was high performance, reliability and product integrity. Our design engineers applied the same principals used in many aerospace sealing applications into the design of our Combustion Seal.
