American Seal & Engineering designs and manufactures metal seals and sealing systems for the high-tech automotive and diesel markets. Our products are used in Formula One racing cars and high-tech diesel engines around the world.
Most of the metal seals we develop for the automotive industry are custom designed for specific program design envelopes. For instance, in one case we had a major engine OEM engage American Seal & Engineering to provide an engineered solution to reduce their emissions before a government-mandated deadline or face severe penalties. The ASE engineering team designed and developed a beta and alpha sealing system in nine months. Our product provided the solution for our customer with the added benefit of increased performance while maintaining current fuel efficiency. This contrasted with our customer’s competitors who experienced a fuel efficiency decrease. Our manufacturing team introduced the new product into the production line one year ahead of schedule and at a cost savings to our customer in excess of $1 million – an achievement never before realized by this OEM.
